Nella Moor

MOOR, Nella (nee Van Ginkel), of Yardley, PA, was a school teacher in The Netherlands when WWII started. For helping Jewish people under Nazi-occupied Holland, she was interned in the Ravensbrueck concentration camp for almost two years (as was her futured husband, Robert Moor, who for the same reason was sent to the Auschwitz Nazi camp).
Nella and Robert married shortly after the end of WWII and "adopted" their nephew Franklin Van Weezendonk (named after Roosevelt, since born on the Dutch "Day of Liberation"). The three then lived in Singapore, Hong Kong, Switzerland and many other countries.
The Moor's moved to San Francisco in 1957, where they established several successful businesses and restored the historical "Centennial Building". Nella and Robert Moor moved to Pennsylvania in 1992. Robert Moor passed away in 1997; Nella remained in the "Yardley Commons" until 2004, whe she moved in with her nephew and his wife Evelyn in Lower Makefield.
Nella Moor doted on her "extended family", including: her nephew Franklin Van Weezendonk and his wife Evelyn; Hanneke de Neve, and their families: Erik, Robert, and Mark Van Weezendonk; Mitch, Veronica, Ariana and Allessandra Auster and Hernando, Staci and Antonio Ruiz, who provided so much joy; her brother, Sandy Van Ginkel and family (Blanche, Brenda, Anthony, Peter, Mark and Mary-Ellen Van Ginkel). The family also thanks Ruth Harvick, who was a wonderful neighbor and companion to Nella.
Afflicted by Alzheimer's disease, Nella relocated in February 2006 to a (wonderful) Assisted Living Facility: "The Residence" in Trenton, NJ, and then moved to the Mercer County Geriatric Center in Hamilton, NJ. She passed away on December 9, 2006, with a firm conviction that she will be reunited with Robert Moor, her beloved late husband of 52 years and with a strong belief in God (as Nella said: "I believe in God, because I want to say "Thank you" to someone for all my blessings in a wonderful life").
Rest in peace Nella, you were a wonderful person, thank you for all the joy you brought us, and may all your beliefs come true.
