Solimine, August A. "Tony August", 78, of Clifton formerly of West New York on Friday, April 22, 2005. For the past 30 years “Tony August” has been a radio & talk show host, byline entertainment columnist and celebrity feature writer, author, playwright, director and producer. "Tony August" was a well known syndicated columninst and founder of Casino Confidential Inc. & Guys & Dolls Low Roller Club in Clifton, NJ. August for years had radio talk shows where he interviewed many well known celebrities such as; Donald Trump, Jackie Mason, Danny Aiello, Larry King, Paul Ahnka & Tony Bennett. In the 1970's, August had a cable show called "Profiles" where he interviewed director Otto Preminger & actor Ben Gazzara. August also wrote, produced and directed two off “Off Broadway Plays”. Born in West New York, August also lived in Jersey City before moving to Clifton in 1964. August served in the U.S. Army during WWII with the rank of Technician 4th Grade. Beloved husband of the late Pearl J. Solimine. Devoted father of Philip Solimine. Loving brother of Ralph & Daniel Solimine. Funeral from Intelisano-Scarpa Funeral Home, 492 Clifton Ave., Clifton, on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 9:45 AM, Religious Service at funeral home 10:15 AM. Cremation, Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 & 6-9 PM.
