Our Services

Agra Cremation is a family owned and managed funeral service which offers many options to meet your needs. Call at no obligation and speak directly to a member of the Riotto family for complete information on cremation or earth burial. Most funeral services offered fall into the following categories.

DIRECT CREMATION OR IMMEDIATE BURIAL

For simple, economic direct cremation or immediate burial, we will transfer the deceased remains from the place of death, respond to your residence to sign all necessary documentation or if convenient express mail the necessary paperwork, file all necessary documents, place the remains in an alternative container or a casket and transfer the remains to the crematory or cemetery. Arrangements for identification can be made at our facility or the local crematory.
In the case of cremation we will make arrangements to have the cremated remains returned to your home within a temporary container suitable for burial, transportation, scattering, or you may purchase a decorative urn.

TRADITIONAL FUNERAL
A “Traditional Funeral” usually entails an open casket viewing prior to cremation or burial. The body is embalmed, a preservation process to permit public viewing for one or more days. This provides relatives and friends the opportunity to express their condolences, offer support and pay tribute. The visitation may include; religious, club or organization services, eulogies of the deceased, appropriate music or hymns, flower displays, pictures and items of memorabilia.

On the morning of the funeral, a final viewing precedes a funeral procession to a church or other place of worship celebrated by a priest or minister.

A procession then continues to the cemetery or crematory where a final brief service is held. A Military Funeral Honors ceremony for veterans consists of the folding and presentation of the American flag and the sounding of Taps by a detail of uniformed members of the Armed Forces.

OTHER SERVICES

SEA SCATTERING OF CREMATED REMAINS
Scattering cremated remains at sea has become popular of late especially after the ashes of John F. Kennedy Jr. were scattered off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard in July of 1999.  Sea scattering services are available at a reasonable cost and can be arranged through our office. Locations are available from coast to coast for private ash scattering or charter voyages where family can be present.

The service should be performed by a licensed Coast Guard Master. A scattering performed in the ocean to EPA regulations is reported to the Environmental Protection Agency. The report includes specific information about the deceased. Anyone with knowledge of the sea can perform such service though should comply with local and national regulations.

MEMORIAL SERVICE

Days or weeks after an immediate burial or direct cremation, a memorial service without the body present can take place in the funeral home, place of worship or any appropriate location that can accommodate relatives and friends.

If cremation was selected, an urn can be purchased for the cremated remains and made available for the service.

This provides relatives and friends the opportunity to express their condolences, offer support and pay tribute.

The visitation may include; religious, club or organization services, eulogies of the deceased, appropriate music or hymns, flower displays, pictures and items of memorabilia.

DOMESTIC OR INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
The funeral home can arrange for the deceased’s body or cremated remains to be shipped to another city, state or country for funeral services abroad by way of a funeral service vehicle or common carrier. International transfers require certain criteria be met by the Consulate General of that country which we facilitate. A traditional funeral or memorial service may be held prior to shipment.

RECEIVING OF REMAINS FROM ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME
Another funeral home may arrange for the deceased’s body or cremated remains to be shipped to our funeral home. A traditional or memorial service may take place in one or both locations prior to burial or cremation.
